GUITAR-DRIVEN MODERN ROCK MUSIC
Jailbirds started with one goal in mind, to be the best that they can possibly be at making rock n roll music. It's what they live for. It's what they think about from the moment they wake up, to the moment they go to sleep at night. Since January of 2016, three Jailbirds - Myke, Liam and Eric - have been working together to create fresh, strong, catchy, guitar-driven rock n roll music.
So far, Jailbirds have recorded a 4 song EP with producer Matt Grady, at EMAC Studios in London ON. The EP is due to release in the summer of 2018, a tour and music videos will accompany the release as well. You can expect a high-energy, memorable rock n roll show from Jailbirds every time.
So far, Jailbirds have played all across Ontario in places like Toronto, Hamilton, Kingston, Oshawa and even have ventured to Ottawa on multiple occasions. Playing venues such as The Horseshoe Tavern, Casbah Lounge, Moustache Club and many more. The first single from the EP will be the title track, The Black River, available everywhere on July 6th, 2018.
In Jailbirds' core sound, there is influence of rock, blues, and guitar-driven music. Be it country-music guitarists, blues guitar players, heavy rock, Myke really resonates with the guitar and that definitely comes through in their music. Eric hits the drums with enough force to stop a freight train, which makes for some lively, energetic drum tones, and is accompanied by Liams pocket, groovy bass playing style. When you combine these elements with Myke's wide-ranged, powerful vocal, you have Jailbirds. While capturing some of the charm and magic that inspired the guys to start the band in the first place, Jailbirds manages to have their own character and originality.
